Data, more precisely facts, are an alien concept to the former Half-Term Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. Her assertion that climate science is “snake oil” is yet another reflection of the profound ignorance that characterizes her mental world. As reported by the Associated Press:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called studies supporting global climate change a “bunch of snake oil science” Monday during a rare appearance in California, a state that has been at the forefront of environmental regulations… Palin made her appearance in a state that often has led the nation on environmental regulations, from restricting automobile pollution to greenhouse gas emissions.

The state’s Global Warming Solutions Act, which passed in 2006 and has been championed by Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, requires greenhouse gas emissions statewide to be cut to 1990 levels by 2020.

But that and other state environmental laws have come under increasing attack from Republican state lawmakers.

Last week, the secretary of state cleared the sponsors of a ballot petition seeking to suspend the 2006 law until the state unemployment rate falls to 5.5 percent and stays there for a year. Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman has criticized the law as being too much of an economic burden while businesses are trying to recover from the recession.

Palin also weighed in on the Obama administration’s efforts to secure a climate change treaty during the international conference held recently in Copenhagen.

“Yeah, I don’t think much of it,” Palin said.

Picked, in an act of desperation, by John McCain as his “game changer” running mate in 2008, Palin has consistently made statements that are a variance with reality… lies I guess you could call them. It didn’t work out so well for McCain. Might not work out well for the rest of us. Take a quick look at her record.

Palin asserts her energy expertise by stating that  Alaska produces 20% of America’s domestic energy. Wrong! Actually Alaska produces 3.5%.

Years after it was proven false, Palin asserts that Iraq was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Palin asserts that Alaska’s official “Troopergate” report cleared her of abuse of power. Actually, report says, well, the opposite.

Palin claims foreign policy experience based on Russia being visible from Alaska. You decide. (Nice map).

Palin says Obama has “death panels” hidden in his health care reform proposal. Actually, not true.

Palin states that cracking down on Iraq is necessary to stop Iran from getting nuclear arms. True or False? I think you can figure this one out.

How do you know when Sarah Palin is lying? Whenever she’s moving her lips.

In short, before you take anything Palin says seriously, you might want to take what the former Half-Term Governor has to say about anything with a mighty big dose of salt.
